Banner maintenance completed
Planned maintenance is complete.  Banner, and related services, have been restored.

Banner maintenance is in progress.  Banner, and related services, are unavailable.  Service is expected to be restored by 2:00 a.m. Saturday May 19.


Banner Maintenance Planned for Friday, May 18 at 10:00 p.m.
Banner will be taken offline at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18 for maintenance.  Service is expected to be restored by 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19.

The following services may be down while maintenance is in progress:

    Banner
    Banner-related products (Self-Service web sites, SCT Datamarts)
    Document Management (Singularity Archive, Capture, etc.)
    Oracle databases (including support for Reed web sites accessing Banner/Oracle data)
    ID card printing and replacement

If your office has planned activities which may be interrupted by this maintenance downtime, please contact Jonathan Byrd (ext. 5517, byrdj@reed.edu) as soon as possible.

Network Troubles Resolved
The campus-wide network issues have been resolved.  If you are still having troubles, please contact Computer User Services at 503-777-7525 (ext. 7525 from on campus) or cus@reed.edu.

Network Trouble
Reed's network is experiencing widespread delays and, in some cases, network outages.  All services may be affected, including email, on campus websites, connections to the internet, OneCard swipe access and telephone service.  CIS staff are tracking down the problem.  Updates will be posted here as information becomes available.

Prexy wireless is still down
The wireless in Prexy is still down. CIS staff continue to work on it and are consulting with outside technical staff. Please contact the CUS Help Desk at 503-777-7525 if you have questions or concerns.

Wireless in Prexy is down
The wireless network in Prexy is down while technical staff upgrade some hardware. The wired internet should be unaffected. We hope wireless will be restored later this afternoon, and an update will be posted.

AFS problems resolved
AFS network file service has been restored, and all users should now be able to access their network home directories.  If you continue to experience access troubles, contact Computer User Services at cus@reed.edu, 503-777-7525.

AFS network filestorage access problem

Some users are not able to access their homeserver folders on Reed's AFS network filestorage system.  Technical staff are working on the problem.

We do not yet know how long the system will be affected.  Updates will be posted as soon as more information is available.


Banner Service Restored

Wireless in Prexy Restored
The wireless network was restored in Prexy this morning. Please contact CUS at 503.777.7525 if you are still experiencing difficulty.

We do not yet know how long wifi in Prexy will be down. Updates will be posted as soon as more information is available.

MacNaughton Internet restored
The wired and wireless network has been fully restored in MacNaughton. Please contact the Help Desk (x7525 or cus@reed.edu) if you experience difficulty.

Some network connectivity restored in MacNaughton

Wired Ethernet and wireless networking have been fixed for MacNaughton 2 and 3.

Wireless networking has been fixed for MacNaughton 1, but wired Ethernet networking is still not working for MacNaughton 1.

Wired Ethernet networking for MacNaughton 1 is expected to be restored by noon tomorrow.


Internet down in MacNaughton
Wired and wireless internet is down in parts of MacNaughton due to hardware faillure. Technical staff are working on it and hope it will be resolved later this afternoon. An update will be posted when additional information becomes available.
